What if...

What if you turn away from your own notions and turn toward God, choosing to humbly obey His commands (Psalm 119:9-16)? If you apply His instructions and become a light to the world and the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-16)?

What if, because of that, we as a family humbly bow before God (1 Peter 5:5-7) and ask for His help and guidance (James 1:5, Hebrews 4:16)? What if we open the Bible and read His Word and truly obey it from our hearts (James 1:25, Psalm 119:9-16)? What if we apply what we read and begin to treat our neighbours as ourselves, with love, care, and respect (Luke 10:27)?

What if, because of that, we as a neighbourhood begin each day thanking God for our life, breath, and all things (Acts 17:24-25)? If we greet one another, share with one another, take care of one another, encourage one another toward doing good (Romans 15:2), and esteem others as more important than ourselves (Acts 2:44-45, 4:42)? What if we give of ourselves, our time, our money expecting nothing in return (Matthew 5:42, Luke 6:30)?

What if, because of that, we as a community worship God in the beauty of holiness, putting all other thoughts out of our minds except those that thankfully praise God for His goodness (Psalm 34:1-3, 107:31-32)? If we respect authority and support those who work to keep our communities peaceful (Romans 13:1-5, 1 Peter 2:13-15,17)? What if we gather to pray (1 John 5:14-15) and truly believe God’s promises of help and faithfulness (Hebrews 11:6, Isaiah 41:10)? What if we let our lives of clay be sculpted by the Master’s hand (Isaiah 64:8)?

What if, because of that, we as a nation acknowledge God’s authority and His instruction (Matthew 10:32-33, Philippians 2:9-11)? If we let go of our wisdom and instead seek our Creator’s wisdom (Proverbs 3:5-6)? If we pray for kings, rulers, and those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-4)? What if we love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who spitefully use us and persecute us (Matthew 5:43-48)? If we choose to not let fear take root in our hearts, keeping it from producing the fruit of hurt, harm, and hate (1 John 4:17-19)? What if we are not anxious, but instead make our thoughts known to God, thanking Him for all things (Philippians 4:6)? What if the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7)? If we meditate on only the things that were true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, full of virtue, and worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8) What if we are not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21) What if we truly become one nation under God (Psalm 33:12)?

It all begins with you.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
